The Government of the Northwest Territories has relaunched the We Need to Talk About this Stuff Campaign. The campaign is a video series featuring Northerners sharing their personal experiences with mental health, trauma, addiction, coping, and healing.
The campaign has run for several years and aims to reduce stigma and encourage open, compassionate conversations about difficult topics. A new video featuring Trevor Kasteel has been added to the series. Trevor shares his story of loss, abuse, and healing, and explains why it is important to talk about the things we often keep silent.
The campaign encourages residents to watch and share the videos, reflect on the stories, and use respectful, inclusive language when talking about substance use, mental health, and healing. The campaign reaffirms that it is by starting open conversations, that we can help reduce stigma and support compassion in the communities.
